Our unique KANO & BIKE COMBI

What makes Canoe Maastricht even more unique is our Canoe & Bike combination! Because in addition to wonderful boating on the Meuse River, you can also choose to combine this with a relaxing bike ride through nature and past charming villages.

You don't really discover the Meuse Valley until you have experienced it by paddling and cycling. Downstream enjoy boating in one of our canoes, kayaks or rafts. Upstream follow a bicycle route through the Maasland of just under 10 kilometers and get to know the character of this wonderful part of Limburg.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You start either with the bike tour or tour by kayak, canoe or raft. The order depends on the departure time. This will be clearly discussed during the finalization of the reservation and tailored to your needs as much as possible.

Starting the bike tour

If you start cycling, we will receive you in the parking lot behind Café De Witte Börstel. Here we will give you a bike and a cycling route that will lead you to our site located at the corner of Pasestraat/ Op de Meer in the Maastricht village of Itteren.

Once you arrive at the parking lot, put the bikes down neatly in the designated spot. Then you will walk 200m to the boarding point of the canoe trip.

Starting the Canoe Trip

If you start canoeing, kayaking or rafting, you may park your car in the designated spots on the grounds at the corner of Pasestraat/ Op de Meer. From there you will follow the instructions and walk a short distance to the pick-up point of the canoe trip.

After only a few strokes of paddling, you will feel the peace and quiet that can only be experienced in the Meuse Valley. Truly enjoy and relax for young and old. Whether you are with a large group or just the two of you, together you will experience a unique tour at your own pace.

The canoe trip eventually ends in the village of Meers in the municipality of Stein. There we will give you bikes and also a bike route that will lead you back to where the adventure started earlier that day.

What kind of bike?

We chose the Gazelle MPB, Multi Purpose Bike. This is a bike designed specifically for rental. Rock solid with a robust frame where almost nothing can break. Single speed and a coaster brake. Just like in The Good Old Day's!

The beauty of this 26-inch model is that it is incredibly widely adjustable, so almost everyone can fit on this bike.
